Superior Hee-Haw Hustle : Superior, Arizona (November 14, 2026)
The Superior Hee-Haw Hustle is a pack burro race held in Superior, Arizona, with courses that start on historic Main Street and use the Legends of Superior Trail into the Tonto National Forest and portions of the Arizona Trail. Racing teams consist of one human and one burro; no solo runners, no other equines, and no riding are allowed.

- 3 miles out-and-back on the Legends of Superior Trail
- 6.2 miles out-and-back entering Tonto National Forest
- 17 miles long course using trail sections of the Arizona Trail
There are also two virtual options: an off-site race where participants may run a chosen distance and a pay-not-to-run option that supports the event and its charity partners. Standard race entry is stated at $80; the pay-not-to-run option is $65. Burro camp dry camping is $15 per night, per space, at the Superior Municipal Airport. Burro rental is a separate fee and teams must secure a burro prior to registering.
Safety and equipment rules specify halter and lead rope requirements, a maximum 15 ft lead rope, permitted use of jack/stud chains with pressure-release technique, and prohibited tools. The 17-mile course requires a pack saddle carrying a pick, gold pan, and shovel to qualify for prizes; hoof boots are recommended. The long course enforces a 21 minute per mile pace and multiple mandatory checkpoints; missing cutoffs results in a Did Not Finish.
