Summer Eddy Trail Run
Summer Eddy takes place on July 20, 2027 at St. Edward State Park in Kenmore, WA as part of the Tuesday Night Trail to Grill series. The event uses the park's natural forest and waterfront trails near the historic seminary building.
The course moves from wider trails onto twisting single track with swooping turns and some sections containing roots and rocks. Southern and western parts of the park have steeper terrain that drops about 85 m (approx. 279 feet) toward the lake, while northern and eastern trails offer flowy turns used by mountain bikers. Runners complete one loop for the shorter distance and two loops for the longer distance.
Distances
- 4 mile: 4.2 miles, 130 m climb
- 8 mile: 8.6 miles, 270 m climb
The aid station sits at the start/finish and serves water, electrolyte sport drinks, and a variety of carbohydrate and salty foods. There is abundant parking near the start; a Discover Pass is required to park in the state park. The lot closest to the event is reserved for hotel staff, and Bastyr University allows overflow parking in its northwest lot with about a 0.4 mile walk to event headquarters.
After the runs there are hot dogs, veggie dogs, watermelon, and other snacks. Awards are given to the top three Female and Open finishers in each distance, and a raffle is held. Trails remain open to other park users; participants are responsible for their own safety. Headphones should be used at low volume and dogs are not allowed on the course under the event's USATF policies. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
