Sugarloaf Uphill Climb
The Sugarloaf Uphill Climb is a mountain running event held in Carrabassett Valley, Maine on Sunday, October 11, 2026. The course begins at the bottom of the SuperQuad and follows the Binder trail and a work road to the resort summit at 4,237 feet, gaining nearly 2,500 feet of elevation over about 2.5 miles.
Mandatory bib pickup is held on The Beach on race morning; late pickup on race day is not available. Trucks will transport racer bags from the start line to the finish. There is no downhill transportation provided for runners after the race; participants should expect to descend on foot.
After the climb, racers pass through the Comp. Center where lunch and cold beverages are served; all racers receive a lunch and a complimentary beer for guests age 21 and over. Awards for all age categories are presented in the Comp. Center as soon as official results are available.
The event proceeds benefit the Adaptive Outdoor Education Center. Timing results are published live via Allsport Timing and are also posted on the registration page and on Facebook. Weather conditions can vary and snow at the summit is possible, so participants should be prepared for changing conditions. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
