Stop the Traffick
Stop the Traffick is a race festival held at Kalamazoo Christian school property in Kalamazoo, Michigan, organized in partnership with Destiny Rescue to raise funds to support efforts to rescue children from human trafficking. The event features off road, cross country courses that include trails; strollers are not encouraged.
Distances offered:
- 5K
- One Mile
The 5K is chip timed and the One Mile is a fun run that is organized as a costume run. A parent or guardian may run with young children in the fun run without registering for the child. Packet pickup is available on the day before and the morning of the event and tee shirts are guaranteed for participants who register by May 14; shirts after that date are available on a first come first served basis and may be picked up during packet pickup or at The Bridge church after the event during normal business hours.
Awards for the 5K include overall male and female and first and second place division winners in the following age brackets 14 and under, 15 to 19, 20 to 29, 30 to 39, 40 to 49, 50 to 59, 60 to 69, and 70 to 99. The One Mile fun run provides a token of participation to all participants.
A community fair called Ministry in Motion accompanies the races with local nonprofits, food trucks, yard games, a bouncy house, face painting, and door prizes. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
