Stonington Vineyards Wine Run Turkey Trot 5K
The event is a chip timed 5k run/walk held at Stonington Vineyards, 523 Taugwonk Rd, Stonington, CT. The course begins and ends at the winery and follows a two lap cross country style route that goes down the lane and includes several loops through the vineyards. The route has areas of uneven footing and is open to both runners and walkers.
Registration includes a T shirt made of Super Soft Ring Spun Cotton, a shatterproof collapsible portable wine glass, a finisher medal, a chip timed race bib, online results, and a pour of wine. Age group awards are given to the top three finishers in each category; awards are custom and available for pickup one hour after the start of the first wave. Age categories are 19 & Under, 20-29, 30-39, 40-49, 50-59, 60-69, 70-79 and 80 & Over. Competitive runners must start with the first group to be eligible for age group awards. Age group awards are available only the day of the event and will not be shipped.
The Connecticut Chapter of the Alzheimer’s Association is the event charity partner. The Association provides care, support and research for people affected by Alzheimer’s and dementia; worldwide more than 55 million people live with dementia and in the United States more than 6 million have Alzheimer’s.
Minors may participate with discounted registration that includes a shirt, medal and bib but not a wine glass or wine. Strollers are allowed but not recommended due to uneven ground; children in strollers can participate for free and do not need to register. Dogs are not allowed on site.
