Sticks n' Stones Trail Race 2026
The event is held at Christie Lake Conservation Area in Hamilton, ON, and is sanctioned by Athletics Ontario. The course is a loop of approximately 5.3 km around the lake on primarily dirt trails. The route is described as rolling and runnable, with non-technical terrain.
Distances offered:
- 5 km, one 5.3 km loop
- 10 km, two loops (about 10.6 km)
- 25 km, five loops (about 26.5 km)
- 50 km SOLO, ten loops (about 53 km)
- 50 km RELAY, ten loops, teams up to five runners
There are two aid stations on each loop: one at the start/finish area and another roughly at the loop midpoint. Aid stations supply water, electrolyte drinks, soda, fruit, and sweet and salty snacks; some stations include PB&J. The event is cup-less; participants must bring a collapsible cup or bottle for refills.
Race kit pick-up takes place on-site at the Beach Pavilion on race day. Registered participants receive event apparel: toques for most distances and a hoodie for solo 50k finishers; hoodies are also available for purchase. Parking is included in registration fees; spectators must pay park entry.
Finishers receive a medal. Solo top three receive awards and winning relay teams are recognized by category. Professional timing and photos are provided.
