Squak Mountain Trail Run
The Squak Mountain Trail Run on April 17, 2027 takes place at Squak Mountain State Park near Issaquah, Washington. The event is organized around three looped courses that start and finish at the main May Valley trailhead.
Distances offered:
- 12K
- Half marathon
- 50K
All distances begin with a steady and significant climb through lush forest with moss, ferns, and streams. The course network is rugged and technical in places; runners pass remnants of the historic Bullitt homestead and have occasional views toward Issaquah. The 12K, half and 50K use separate loop configurations; 50K runners complete their loop twice. Elevation gain is listed as 2000' for the 12K, 3800' for the half marathon, and 8800' for the 50K.
Aid stations are placed on course, with a common station at 3.5 miles and additional stations for longer distances at roughly 8, 15, 18.5, and 23 miles. The event is cupless; all participants must carry a refillable container. The half marathon awards qualifying points for the Vert Running Series by Mountain Running Races.
Parking at the May Valley Loop trailhead is limited and requires a Discover Pass. The organizer notes that trails remain open to other users during the event, including equestrians on the first small loop and hikers. Every finisher receives a piece of handmade finisher swag produced with solar power. Evergreen Trail Runs supports local stewardship and offers youth races as part of its Woodland Speeders program.
