Springfield Dam Run
The Edgar May Health and Recreation Center presents the Springfield Dam Run on Saturday, September 12, 2026 at the Army Corps of Engineers property at the Springfield Dam. The event offers multiple races and a Family Fun Zone with food, ice cream for sale, face painting, and a mobile axe throwing unit.
Races and participation details:
- Kids Half-Mile Fun Run free for youth under age 12, closed trail event.
- Maniac Mile one-mile sprint for ages 10 and older, entry fee $20.
- Dam Run 5K scenic 5K open to all ages, entry fee $30.
The Kids Half-Mile Fun Run is free and all participating children who are registered will be entered in a raffle for a youth mountain bike. Any child who participates in any of the races is also eligible for the bike raffle. The Maniac Mile awards cash prizes to the top male and top female finishers. The 5K course runs entirely on Army Corps property and includes a mix of trails and dirt road with slight elevation gain and fast downhills, and offers views of Mt. Ascutney.
