Spoonbread Festival 5K - Berea, KY
The Spoonbread Festival 5K is an event taking place on September 20, 2026, at the Russel Acton Folk Center, 212 West Jefferson Street, Berea, KY 40403. The in-person program uses a flat, paved course on the Berea City Trail and includes chip timing and awards for overall finishers and five-year age divisions.
Distances and options:
- 5K Run/Walk : chip timed on paved trail surfaces.
- 1 Mile Fun Walk : untimed walk, no awards.
- 5K Virtual Runner/Walker : complete the distance remotely anywhere in the United States.
Participants receive commemorative soft poly/cotton unisex race shirts while supplies last; virtual registrants living outside the Berea area will be mailed a shirt. Free race photos will be available. The event notes music, food, and community fellowship at the site.
Registration opens January 1, 2026. In-person registration for the 5K and 1-mile walk closes February 28, 2026; virtual registration closes September 16, 2026. A volunteer option requests six volunteers for a race day shift from 7:30 to 10:30 am. Packet pickup is held on race morning in the parking lot of the Russel Acton Folk Center; there is no advanced day pickup. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
