Spoonbread Festival 5K in Berea, KY
The 30th annual Spoonbread Festival 5K takes place on September 20, 2026, with start/finish at the Russel Acton Folk Center in Berea, Kentucky. The event uses paved trail surfaces on the Berea City Trail.
Distances offered:
- 5K Run/Walk chip timed on paved trail surfaces
- 1 Mile Fun Walk untimed, no awards presented
- 5K Virtual Runner/Walker participate from anywhere in the United States
The in-person 5K welcomes runners, walkers, strollers, and dogs on fixed length leashes. Awards are presented for Top 3 male and female overall and in five-year age divisions; age groups include ranges such as 0-9, 10-14, 15-19 through 65-69 and 70+. Participants receive a commemorative soft poly/cotton unisex race shirt while supplies last. There will be free race photos, music, and food. The event benefits the Berea Chamber of Commerce, which sponsors the Spoonbread Festival.
Packet pickup is held on race morning in the parking lot of the Russel Acton Folk Center; there is no advanced day packet pickup. A virtual 5K option allows participants to run or walk on their own schedule; virtual entries do not receive awards, and shirts will be mailed to participants who live outside the Berea area.
