About the race
The Spitfire Scramble is a 24-hour multi-terrain relay or solo race held in the London area. Entrants may compete individually or in teams of two to eight runners. The format uses repeated laps of 5.75 miles and the race continues as a timed, continuous event for 24 hours.
Teams may have a maximum of one runner on the course at any time. Each runner must complete a full circuit before handing over to a team mate. Running through the night is part of the format, so participants need to manage speed, endurance, torch batteries and teamwork over successive laps.
The event location is Albyns Farm entrance on South End Road, RM13 7YH, GB. Runners and their supporters may arrive from Friday afternoon to set up camp; camping is free. On-site services include catering, toilets, hot showers, a sports massage service and first aid.
