About the race
The Spekbos Josty Trail Run takes place at Lategansvlei Soccer Stadium in Lategansvlei, Oudtshoorn, Western Cape. The event is a community fundraiser for Lategansvlei and features trail routes through the Klein Karoo that are open to participants only on race day. Routes vary in length and terrain, offering views of the surrounding Karoo landscape and a mix of running and walking surfaces. The event program includes a family-oriented 5 km fun run or walk, a 14 km trail route, and a 21 km trail route.
Participants can expect varied terrain and sections of trail that are not normally accessible outside the event day. Prize money is offered for the 21 km and 14 km categories. Prize amounts for the 21 km category are R1,500 for first place, R1,000 for second, and R500 for third for both male and female categories. Prize amounts for the 14 km category are R750 for first place, R550 for second, and R350 for third for both male and female categories. Food and drink vendors are present on site, and late entries are available on race morning.
