South Wales - Pearl Harbour Military Series Run
This event takes place on Sunday 6 December 2026 at Barry Sidings Country Park, Pontypridd. It is the first of four military themed runs that mark influential dates from World War II and is presented as a standalone timed event.
The course is an out-and-back lap of the Taff Trail that measures 5.3 km (3.28 miles). Laps start and finish near Barry Sidings Cafe and pass an aid station and lakes; each lap has approximately 50 m of elevation gain and loss. The route is entirely tarmac or pavement and is classed as a road course with an AUKCM certificate of course accuracy (25/431). A Welsh Athletics race license has been applied for.
Participants may complete as many laps as they wish within a seven hour time limit. Runners and walkers are welcome; completing one lap counts as a finish. Entry options include affiliated and unaffiliated prices and a no medal entry at a lower fee. Each attended event awards a 160 mm finisher medal; completing all four events combines the medals into a 320 mm by 160 mm mural with a flag back.
Support at the event includes an aid station, same-day results and digital race services such as digital BIBs and finishers certificates. Distance restrictions apply to participants aged 20 or under under UK Athletics rules. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
