South Wales - Hedgie Hog Jog

Phoenix Running South Wales stages the Hedgie Hog Jog on Sunday 21 March 2027 at Barry Sidings Country Park in Pontypridd, Mid Glamorgan.

The event uses a 5.3 km (3.28 mile) out and back lap along the Taff Trail. Participants may complete as many or as few laps as they wish to target distances including:

  • Ultra

Each lap starts near Barry Sidings Cafe, proceeds toward Pontypridd to a turnaround point, and returns along the trail, passing an aid station, the cafe, and lakes before finishing the lap at the aid station.

The minimum distance is one lap (3.28 miles) and the overall time limit is seven hours. The route surface is entirely tarmac or pavement, with 50 m elevation gain and loss per lap. The event is timed and operates flexible rock up and run start times; organisers will try to accommodate special start time requests depending on the distance entered.

Entry options include a standard entry that includes a bespoke finishers medal and a no medal option from £20. Affiliated and unaffiliated entry fees are listed as £33 and £35 respectively. The event is classed as Road and holds an AUKCM course accuracy certificate number 25/431. A race licence has been applied for with Welsh Athletics.
