SOS - Duffys Forest (The Christmas Tree Farm)
SOS closes term 4 with a Christmas-themed orienteering event held at the Sydney Christmas Tree Farm, 6 Namba Rd (enter from Birramal Rd), Duffys Forest. The site uses rows of trees as a maze for short, social courses and includes relay courses for teams of two to four runners; relays are included in the single entry fee. Entrants may run multiple courses on the day.
SPORTident electronic timing is used for all courses; participants who do not own a timing card can hire one at entry. Standard entry fees apply for adults and school students, with a member discount available via the promo code ONSW. A free Buddy ticket option is offered for adults who wish to accompany a young or inexperienced orienteer without a personal timing chip or map.
A BBQ will be lit for lunch; participants are asked to bring their own meat or protein, cutlery, a plate, chair and drinks. Organisers will provide some salads and bread and request an RSVP when entering so they can cater appropriately.
