Snap Dragon
Snap Dragon is a naked trail race for ages 18 and up held at Sunset Mountain in Noel, Missouri on October 17, 2026. The listed distance is 13.1 Miles and the event uses repeated short laps on the Snap Dragon trail.
Competitors run 0.86 mile laps. Each lap is limited to 12 minutes and anyone who does not return within that time is removed from the field. The last person to finish each lap is also eliminated. Laps repeat every 12 minutes until one person remains or until the event reaches a 180 minute limit, after which a race-off lap determines the top male and female finishers.
The course runs over a mix of forest trails, loose gravel, and large rocks, with significant downhills, cow pasture sections, many twists and turns, and about 215 feet of elevation gain from the starting gate. The race finishes on a gravel driveway.
Entry information includes registration opening on April 11, 2026 and closing on October 4, 2026, with a registration fee of $52.00. The event is limited to the first 25 entries. Each paid entry includes entrance to Sunset Mountain for the participant and one guest. Top male and female finishers receive embroidered robes presented immediately after the race. A barbecue dinner is provided the same day and race participants may enter the cook off. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
