Skyline Ridge Trail Run and Hike
Skyline Ridge Trail Run and Hike takes place in La Honda, CA on March 6, 2027. The event is organised by Friends of Ridge Trail in partnership with Ridge Trail as a fundraiser. One hundred percent of entry fees goes to Ridge Trail Organisation.
Distances offered include:
- 50K run only
- 21K Half Marathon run and hiker friendly
- 10K hikers welcome
Courses travel through Skyline Open Space Preserve, Russian Ridge and other nearby open space preserves and parks. Trail surfaces vary from narrow singletrack to wider ranch roads, soft forest and creekbed footing, and firmer grassland sections. Exposed ridgetops can be windy or foggy and slopes on west and south aspects can be warm. Routes include climbs to high knolls and sections with coastal mountain views; on a clear day the Pacific Ocean may be visible.
Four fully stocked aid stations provide water, Tailwind, fresh fruit, peanut butter and jelly, soda and gels. A water faucet is available near Black Mountain campsite for the 50K course and finish area aid includes hot food for finishers. The course is marked with pink ribbons and red flags, wrong turns use blue ribbons, and red black striped ribbons indicate turns.
Cutoff times are published per course, including a 9 hour overall cutoff for the 50K and specific aid station pass times for that distance. All participants receive a Bay Area Ridge Trail logo duffel bag. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
