Sisu Backyard Ultra at Lake Rebecca
The Sisu Backyard Ultra is scheduled for September 4, 2027 in Rockford, MN at Lake Rebecca (9831 Rebecca Park Trail). The event uses the backyard ultra format: runners complete a loop of 4.167 miles every hour, on the hour. Runners who do not finish a loop within the hour or who do not start the next loop are eliminated; there is no predetermined finish line.
The course is a repeated loop that mixes gravel, asphalt, and trail surfaces. A central corral area serves as the event hub, with a shared runner tent located steps from the start line for rest, gear changes, and staging between loops. Food and refreshments are available near the corral, and crews and volunteers provide on-site support throughout the event.
The event includes on-site amenities described by the organizer: a sauna and an option for a post-run swim. The race is livestreamed so remote viewers can follow hourly starts, runners returning to the finish, and footage from the course as the event progresses.
Registration details listed by the organizer indicate a price of USD 141.95 and a registration period that is available from 2026-09-19; registration closes August 29. The format allows individual goals to vary widely, from completing a single loop to continuing for many hours; performance is measured by how many loops a runner completes.
