About the race
Sirens and Sneakers 5K is the third annual running event at Ort Farms in Long Valley, New Jersey. The event raises funds to provide additional resources and training opportunities for volunteer first responders in Long Valley, including the Long Valley First Aid Squad and local fire departments.
Distances:
- 5K two lap course
- 300 yard dash for ages 5 to 8
- 0.6 mile for ages 9 to 12
The adult course runs across mixed terrain on an active working farm, including loose dirt, gravel, grass, and paved roads. The 5K is two laps with two assisted road crossings per lap; the Washington Township Police Department will assist at those crossings. Course conditions can vary with weather. Course maps are provided for the adult 5K and both kids races. The event is rain or shine.
Kids races take place on farm fields and farm roads. The 300 yard dash for ages 5 to 8 is an out and back. The 0.6 mile race for ages 9 to 12 includes field and farm road sections and has no public road crossings. All kids race finishers receive a custom event medal.
Registration details include an adult fee of $35 and a kids fee of $15, and registration is capped at 400 participants. Adult pre-registrants by 9/09/2026 receive a T shirt. Top three men and women receive prize baskets with coffee and gift card awards. Post race activities occur at Ort Farms Oktoberfest with hayrides, pumpkin picking, an apple cannon, and live music; Oktoberfest admission is managed by Ort Farm.
