SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge Half Marathon
SilverBackTrails Othnesbery’s Revenge is a trail half marathon held on 15 August 2027 in the North York Moors National Park. The course is circa 13.1 miles with a five hour cut off and places limited to 50 participants. Minimum age on the day is 17.
The route follows forest tracks and heather‑clad moorland and includes repeated ascents of Roseberry Topping, locally known as Othnesbery, with a steep section near Odin's Seat late on the course. Marshals and flags will assist navigation, and each entrant receives a GPX file and a master route map at registration. All finishers receive a bespoke medal; a new design will be used for 2027.
Practical details include parking in the car park below Roseberry Topping where registration takes place, responsibility for parking charges, and no entries on the day. Transfers are permitted up to one week before the event; refunds are not offered. An event specific technical T shirt is available to purchase for £18.
Safety requirements are mandatory and checked. Entrants must carry as a minimum a waterproof jacket with taped seams unless using Paramo, hat or buff and gloves, an emergency bivvy bag, a charged mobile with mapping apps, at least 500 ml of fluid and 120 g of emergency food, a working compass, and OS Explorer 26 or Harvey's North Yorkshire Moors map.
