Shropshire Hills 50 Ultra Challenge
The Shropshire Hills 50 Ultra Challenge is a trail event on Saturday 18 September 2027 based at the Discovery Centre in Craven Arms. The main route is a roughly 55 km loop that heads southwest on trails to Knighton on the Welsh border, passes through the village of Leintwardine, and approaches Stokesay Castle before the finish. The 55 km route includes about 1,350 metres of climb. Weekend camping is available at basecamp.

Support and logistics include marquee rest stops approximately every 12.5 km with larger stops about every 25 km, catering with snacks and drinks, medical teams, podiatry and massage services, and a timing system that scans progress at rest stops. The route is fully signed with extensive pink arrows and GPS tracking via an event app. Shuttle buses and transfers to local train stations are provided and finish areas offer parking for supporters. Additional choices include a Solo Start option, an Ultra March option, and a Trailblazerz option. Finishers receive a medal, a T shirt, and a glass of fizz, and a hot meal is available.
