Shotley 24
Shotley 24 is a 24 hour trail running and camping weekend held from a central race headquarters on the Shotley peninsula in Suffolk. The event uses a fully marked coastal loop of approximately 4.3 miles composed of farm track, forest path, country lanes, riverbank and tarmac footpath. Race HQ includes camping and campervanning as part of the entry fee; camping is reserved for competitors while friends and family may visit to support during the day.
Entries are available for solo runners and for teams: pairs, small teams of three to four, and large teams of five to six. Entry fees vary by category and include race camping, event parking, toilets, an indoor area with kitchen facilities and complimentary tea and coffee. Each lap finishes at a restocked checkpoint with food and drink. Competitors receive a bespoke medal; anyone completing at least one lap receives a Coastal Trail Runners vest and solo runners who exceed 100 miles receive a unique vest.
Event services include chip timing, medical cover, complimentary massages, a Core & More Pilates warm up (bring a mat), and solo and team prizes. The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and run under UK Athletics rules. Participants must be 18 or older; those aged 18 to 20 may only complete up to six laps under the relevant UK Athletics rule. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
