About the race
A running event at Shelby Park that lets participants mix and match loops to reach a personal mileage goal. All loops start and finish at the Shelby Park baseball field next to the parking lot outside the entrance to Shelby Bottoms Park, which serves as base camp.
Base camp is the location for participant support. BPN is set up at base camp and will offer free endurance supplements to participants. Pizza is provided to participants.
The course is organized as four color coded loops:
- Red loop - 8 miles (Shelby Bottoms lollipop)
- Blue loop - 7 miles (Titans stadium)
- Yellow loop - 3 miles (Shelby Bottoms observation and Sevier Lake)
- Orange loop - 1 mile (Shelby Park baseball field)
After completing a loop and returning to base camp, participants receive a colored wristband that corresponds to the loop just completed. The wristband system is used to track accumulated miles. The event is presented as a personal endurance challenge rather than a race against others; emphasis is on completing distance rather than speed.
