Sedin vs. Sedin 2026
Sedin vs. Sedin is a team-based climb event on Grouse Mountain in North Vancouver on September 27, 2026. The event opens with a head-to-head race between Daniel Sedin and Henrik Sedin on the Grouse Grind trail. After that, participants are assigned at random to either Team Daniel or Team Henrik, and individual climb times and fundraising totals contribute to each team’s score.
The winning team is decided by a combination of three elements: the result of the Sedin head-to-head race, the average of the top 50 participant climb times for each team, and the total fundraising amount raised by each team. Individual prizes and additional recognition will also be awarded with details provided before race day.
On the mountaintop there is a finish area with a live DJ, BBQ, and an awards ceremony. Included for participants are a commemorative race bib with timing chip, entry into a prize draw, complimentary bag transfer from the start line to the mountaintop, an aid station with hydration and snacks at the finish, and the mountaintop celebration. Event registration profits are donated to the Sedin Family Foundation.
Event notes and rules require online registration in advance, a signed release of liability, visible numbered bibs, staying on the marked Grouse Grind trail, and guardian consent for participants under 19. The event is cupless at aid stations and participants should bring a refillable hydration vessel. Certain purchases and registration fees are non refundable.
