Sea to Sky Q1 Stair Challenge : Skypoint Sea to Sky Q1 Stair Challenge
The event is a timed stair climb up the Q1 tower in Surfers Paradise on Sunday 7 March 2027. Participants ascend 77 floors, covering about 230 m of vertical climb, finishing at the Skypoint observation deck on Level 77. The start line is on Clifford Street at Q1, 9 Hamilton Avenue.
Entries are organised into categories that have included Elite Runners, Teams, Junior Buddies and Fancy Dress. Individual climbers and teams are timed; team results are calculated by combining individual times. Participants receive an event medal, a branded bib, electronic timing, an eCertificate and on-course refreshments and sponsor give-aways.
The event is a fundraiser for LIVIN. Funds raised support LIVINWell, a mental health education program delivered to high school students across Australia. The event materials state that the climb aims to raise money to support conversations about mental health and suicide prevention among young people.
Safety measures include first aiders stationed near the start, the finish and on selected levels. Rules require participants to keep to the handrail, allow overtaking, avoid obstructing others and not wear action cameras in the stairwell.
