About the race
GCTR Monthly Pop-Up Run is a monthly trail run on Belliss Road, Clagiraba, that uses local tracks in the Gold Coast hinterland. The meeting point is the Belliss Road car park at Mount Nathan/Clagiraba. The route begins with an undulating section and then follows a largely uphill climb to Hellfire Pass, offering elevated views of the Gold Coast hinterland. One option finishes at Hellfire Pass and returns along the same trail; a longer option continues to Freeman's Lookout before dropping back to Belliss Road with a sustained descent.
The event is offered at no charge and light snacks are available on site. Organisers note this edition will include more hiking than running on the steeper sections, emphasising ascending and descending technique. Planned distances and formats listed for this event include:
- ~7.5 km return to Hellfire Pass
- ~12 km return to Freeman's Lookout and back
Dates for other monthly pop-up runs in the 2026–27 season are listed by organisers and include multiple Gold Coast locations. The event description notes that schedules are confirmed 6–8 weeks prior to each run. Registration is requested to assist with catering arrangements. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
