The Great British Easter Run - The Purple Honour
The event is day 8 of a 10 in 10 series held on 2 April 2027 in Staines at The Last Hop, Thames Edge Court. It is a 7 hour Time Challenge that allows participants to choose how many laps to run, with a minimum official distance of 3 km. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (7 km) but may be changed to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. The lap includes marked 3 km and 5 km turn points to support compliance with UK Athletics age rules.
The course runs along the River Thames and is fully signed. Surfaces are mainly well made paths and tarmac with a short grass section; road shoes are suitable year round. The route may be adjusted after a health and safety review.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Runners who belong to a UK Athletics affiliated club receive a £2 entry discount. Members receive the lowest entry price, guaranteed entry, and a mini-me medal pin at each event they attend.
Finishers who complete at least 3 km receive a themed medal. Distance pins are supplied for half-marathon and longer distances, including Half Marathon, Mega-Half, Marathon, 50 km and Ultra, attached to the medal ribbon. Finishers receive a goody bag with a vegan option if requested at entry.
An aid table and drinks are available at the start and finish of each lap with savoury and sweet options and vegan choices. Venue toilets are available but there are no separate showers or changing rooms. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park, Staines TW18 4TP. A bag drop is provided but is not secure.
