About the race
Saturn Running organises a midweek remembrance run at Unit 2, Thames Edge, 15-18 Clarence Street, Staines upon Thames. The event aims to provide an affordable, flexible opportunity to remember those who have given the ultimate sacrifice and features a commemorative poppy finisher medal.
The event is run as a 7 hour Time Challenge that lets participants control the distance they cover, with a minimum distance of 5 km. A full lap is listed as 4.37 miles (approximately 7 km) but may change to a 3.28 mile loop depending on course conditions. Typical lap counts are three laps for a half marathon and six laps for a marathon; ultra distances and a 50 km option are also available. The course follows a stretch of the River Thames, is fully signed, and is mainly on made paths and tarmac with a short grass section. Road shoes are suitable year round.
Facilities and services include a finisher medal, a goody bag with a vegan option, a full aid table with vegan options, toilets, distance pins, and a bag drop that is unmanned and used at participants own risk. Race registration numbers are collected on the day at the race registration desk and final race instructions are sent by email in the week before the event. Parking is available at Bridge Street Car Park. Headphones are permitted and the course runs on public footpaths. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
