The Penguin Plod - Northampton
This is a 7 hour Time Challenge organised by Saturn Too Limited, a franchise partner of Saturn Running, held at Northampton Active on Bedford Road. The course runs around the Northampton Washlands on well maintained paths and trail and may be adjusted after a health and safety review.
The event is licensed by the Trail Running Association and held under UK Athletics rules. Members receive a lower entry price, guaranteed entry and a mini-me medal pin; UK Athletics affiliated club members receive a small entry discount.
Participants who complete at least 3 km are official finishers and receive a themed medal. Pins are awarded for distances at or above a half-marathon and are added to the medal ribbon. Finishers also receive a goody bag, with a vegan option available.
An aid table and drinks are provided at the start/finish of each lap, with both savoury and sweet options including vegan choices. Toilets are available at the venue but there are no separate changing facilities or showers. Parking at the venue is limited and nearby parking may incur charges.
Number pick up is on the day at race registration; final race instructions are sent by email in the week before the event. A bag drop is available but is not secure. Headphones are allowed.
