Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic
The Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic is an annual winter event held at Big Tesuque Campground in Santa Fe, New Mexico. It offers two ways to participate: an in-person trail event and a virtual option. Each option covers a 6K distance.
The in-person course is a lollipop route that travels along Big Tesuque Trail, Winsor Trail, and Pacheco Canyon Road. Snowshoes are required when conditions permit. Age-group awards are given to in-person participants and a prize raffle for in-person entrants is held at the conclusion of the race. Raffle prizes have included limited edition swag, gift cards, and gear. Mesh performance headbands are provided to participants; headbands will be mailed to virtual participants. No race day registration is available.
Proceeds from the event benefit search and rescue teams in Santa Fe. Those groups contribute trained teams for wilderness searches and help ensure participant safety during the event. Parking at Big Tesuque Campground is limited. The event alternates which gender starts first; men will start first this year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
