Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic
The Santa Fe Snowshoe Classic is a winter 5K event held on February 6, 2027 at Aspen Vista Picnic Area in Santa Fe, NM. The event offers two participation options: an in person snowshoe race and a virtual 5K that can be completed from any location before the event date.
The in person course is a 5K out-and-back along Forest Road 150 through winter terrain. Snowshoes are required when conditions permit. Awards are given for overall and age-group finishers in person, and a prize raffle is held after the race with items such as past limited edition swag, gift cards, and gear. Parking at Aspen Vista is limited.
Virtual participants complete their own 5K run, hike, or snowshoe and will receive the same crossbody bag mailed to them. Registration details include opening on October 1, 2026, an in person fee of $35 (increasing to $40 on January 12), and a virtual fee of $40. No race day registration is available.
All proceeds benefit Skyline Search and Rescue in Santa Fe. The event notes that women will start first this year and that the start order alternates between male and female starters each year. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
