Sandstone Trail Half
The event replaces the previous Sandstone Trail Races and consists of two alternative point to point races run concurrently. Both races start at Bickerton Hill National Trust Car Park and finish at Kelsall Hill Equestrian Centre. The location is Duckington and the race date is 6 September 2026.
There is no parking at the start area. Organisers recommend using a bus from the finish area to the start or arranging a drop off at the start and collection at the finish. The finish area includes showers and a cafe.
A 3 hour 30 minute cut off applies. There is a timed crossing point on the A51; the time taken between the two controls will be deducted from each competitor's overall time and that deduction will appear on finish results. Prizes for the top three men and top three women are awarded by time.
The route is often waymarked by yellow circular Sandstone Trail markers on posts, styles and gates. Marshals will be present where the trail meets local roads, but runners are advised to familiarise themselves with stretches of the route before race day.
There are two drink stations at approximately 6 miles and 10 miles. Competitors are advised to carry additional water, a mobile phone and extra outer clothing in case of bad weather.
