Endurance Event Overview
The San Diego 200 is a long-distance endurance event held in Escondido, California. The course covers a distance of 200 miles and circumnavigates San Diego County. This route features a wide variety of terrain, including coastal sections, urban corridors, rugged inland trails, mountain ranges, and desert landscapes.
The event follows an uncompromising format with a total time limit of 82 hours. Due to the multi-day nature of the distance, participants must manage pacing, fatigue, and sleep deprivation while moving across changing environments. The run is organized by individuals who previously finished the original version of the event.
Participation Details
Registration for this edition is limited to 24 runners to maintain a specific event experience. While not a strict requirement, the organizers recommend that participants have previous experience completing a 200-mile race. Runners without a prior finish at this distance may be considered based on other athletic accomplishments.
The event features a single distance:

Support and Logistics
All participants are required to have a support crew. While the first 100 miles pass through populated areas where gas stations and stores are accessible for self-support, the second 100 miles become more rugged with limited access to water and supplies. Crews are permitted to meet their runners anywhere it is safe to do so. All event profits are donated to a Native American charity. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
