Ruralco Longbeach Coastal Challenge 2026
The Ruralco Longbeach Coastal Challenge is a multi discipline community event held on November 29, 2026 at 1754 Longbeach Road, Tinwald, Ashburton, New Zealand. The event includes mountain biking, running, walking and duathlon races, and is organised by Longbeach School together with Hinds and Districts Lions Club. Proceeds support the local community.
The programme features separate race options across cycling, running and walking. Distances and event formats offered include:
- 70 km mountain bike challenge
- 35 km mountain bike race
- 23 km mountain bike and 23 km eBike events
- 12 km mountain bike family ride
- Schools team cycling race for primary years 5 to 8
- 35 km bike plus 12 km run duathlon individual
- Team duathlon where one member cycles 35 km and the other runs 12 km
- 21 km run half marathon
- 12 km run
- 12 km walk
- 5 km fun run or walk
The event marks the 19th annual running of the Longbeach Coastal Challenge. It also notes the second year of the 70 km cycling challenge and the third year of the duathlon and the schools team cycling race. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
