Ashburton River Trail Marathon
The Ashburton River Trail Marathon takes place in Ashburton, New Zealand, on 5 and 6 March 2027. The event uses the Ashburton River Trail and starts and finishes at the Allenton Rugby Football Club grounds on Melrose Road. The route runs mostly under the river canopy and includes winding and undulating sections. Parts of the courses combine river trail surface with short road sections.
Distances and race formats:
- 5 km Walk/Run including a Corporate Challenge
- 10 km Run extending to Mania-o-roto Scout Park
- 21 km Half marathon combining river trails and road segments
Parking is available at the Allenton Rugby Club. Overnight motorhome and caravan facilities are available for members at the neighbouring NZMCA camp. Registration packs can be collected from the Allenton Rugby Football Clubrooms on 4 March 5:00–7:00pm, 5 March 12:00–2:00pm, or early on 6 March before the briefing. Food and beverages will be available for purchase during and after the events.
