Carsington Water Half Marathon & 10k : 21 August 2027
The event takes place on Saturday 21 August 2027 at Carsington Water Visitor Centre, Big Lane, Upper Town, Ashbourne DE6 1ST, United Kingdom. Two distances are offered:
- Half Marathon : minimum age 17; elevation gain 200 m
- 10k : minimum age 15
Both races follow marked trail routes around Carsington Water reservoir. The course is described as undulating with waterside paths and countryside views. Routes are marked with trail flags, tags, A5 arrows and signage, and marshals will be positioned at major junctions. Organisers provide a GPX file so runners can check the route and self-navigate if necessary.
Entries include a unique themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results, post-race goodies and a bag drop. There is an event village with food and drink and finish-line provisions. Spectators are welcome and are advised to remain in the event village to view the finish and the half marathon start area.
Practical information: paid parking is available at the Visitor Centre and at Millfields Car Park (fees listed for two hours and whole day). The 10k start is at Millfields Car Park while both races finish at the main event village, a 1.3 mile / 25 minute walk from the 10k start. A secure marquee is provided for baggage and toilets are located behind the visitor centre and at Millfields Car Park.
