Carsington Water Half Marathon & 10k February 2027
The Carsington Water Trail event on 13 February 2027 offers two distances around Carsington Water in Derbyshire. Routes run on trail paths with open reservoir views and countryside scenery. The half marathon route records about 200 m of elevation gain and both courses are described as undulating.
Routes are waymarked with trail flags, tags, A5 arrows and signage, and marshals are positioned at major junctions. Organisers provide a GPX file so runners can check the route and self-navigate if required. The entry includes a themed medal, free race photos, chip-timed results, post-race goodies and a bag drop.
Minimum ages are 17 for the half marathon and 15 for the 10k. Water is available at the 5 km point of the 10k and at miles 3, 6 and 9 on the half marathon, with additional water at the finish. Toilets are located behind the visitor centre and at the Millfields car park, which is the 10k start location. Both races finish in the main event village near Carsington Water Visitor Centre, which is about 1.3 miles from the 10k start.
Parking at the venue is paid and uses number plate recognition, payable on exit. Secure baggage storage is provided in a marquee and baggage tags attach to race numbers. An optional event t-shirt is available in sizes XS to XXL. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
