Running For Warriors
Running For Warriors is the Second Annual 5K event organized by Veterans Freedom Shows and Events, a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit that provides financial assistance to organizations serving veterans. Beneficiary partners named by the organizer include Central Valley Honor Flight and Wreaths Across America. The organizer also hosts other veteran-focused activities such as WXO (Warrior Expeditions Off-Road).
The event takes place at California Health Sciences University, 120 N Clovis Ave, Clovis, CA 93612, USA. It includes multiple in-person race options and a virtual race. Distances offered include:
- 5K Competitive Run, 3.1 miles, qualifies for age group awards
- 5K Fun Run/Walk, 3.1 miles, no awards for fun run
- 2 Mile Fun Run/Walk, 2 miles, no awards for fun run
- Virtual 5K, 3.1 miles, run at participant location and time
Registration fees listed by the organizer are $35.00 for each in-person event and $50.00 for the virtual 5K. The organizer provided registration windows for the events.
Following the races, activities at the Clovis Veterans Memorial District include a pancake breakfast, a live band, a car show, the Faces of Our Veterans exhibit, veteran documentaries, tours of the Community Heritage Center, and a patriotic concert.
