Run Wild
Run Wild is a weekend event at the Fort Wayne Zoo offering a 3 Miles trail that passes through themed zoo areas including Africa, Australia, Stingray Bay and by the Peacock Cafe. The course uses multiple surfaces: concrete, wooden bridges, grass and gravel.
Participants receive a commemorative race shirt, timing bib and a finisher medal. 5K entrants gained free reentry to the Fort Wayne Zoo on Saturday after completing the Saturday 5K. Spectators were allowed in certain areas inside the front gates from the main plaza to the Africa tunnel area but not beyond barriers.
Entry is through the Sherman Blvd entrance; the new Goshen Road entrance was closed. Zoo paths are narrow in some areas so there was a participant cap. There was no day of registration on Saturday. Registration opened 12/31/2026 and closed 1/31/2027; the registration fee was $40.00. Packet pick-up information was provided by the organizer.
For the safety of animals, dogs and other pets are not permitted. Service animals were required to check in at Zoo guest services prior to the race. Proceeds from the event benefit the Fort Wayne Zoo. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
