Trail Running in Fairborn
The Run Ohio Races Christmas event takes place at Oakes Quarry Park in Fairborn, Ohio. This trail race features a course that moves through wooded trails and limestone cliffs, providing views of the quarry. The terrain is rugged and includes several trail segments typical of the local quarry landscape.
Participants can choose from several event distances:
- 1.55 mile fun run
- 5K trail race (2 laps)
- 10K trail race (4 laps)
- 15K trail race (6 laps)
The course is designed as an out-and-back loop measuring 1.55 miles. Runners completing the 5K, 10K, or 15K distances will repeat this loop to reach their total distance. The route is clearly marked with signs, and volunteers are stationed at key turns to assist with navigation.
On-site amenities include aid stations with water and hydration available along the course. Participants who register by October 20th receive a short-sleeve race shirt; those registering after this date do not receive a shirt. All participants receive a finisher medal at the finish line celebration. Overall winners in the 5K, 10K, and 15K categories are recognized with special awards.
