Run Larapinta Stage Race
Run Larapinta is a four day stage trail running race in the Red Centre near Alice Springs, Northern Territory, Australia. The event is scheduled for Thursday 19 August to Sunday 22 August 2027 and runs along sections of the Larapinta Trail. Entries for the 2027 race are allocated by ballot; the ballot period runs from 12 noon AEDT Wednesday 14 October to 11:59 pm AEDT Sunday 18 October 2026.
The race offers two course options, called Malbunka (long course) and Namatjira (short course). Distances for each stage are:
- Malbunka long course: Stage 1 19.5 km, Stage 2 41 km, Stage 3 33 km, Stage 4 34 km.
- Namatjira short course: Stage 1 13.5 km, Stage 2 20 km, Stage 3 22 km, Stage 4 27 km.
The course features varied terrain including boulder fields, ridge lines, sandy river beds and rocky sections. The event operates across consecutive days with full race support and organised logistics and services for competitors.
