About the race
Run Forrest Trail Run is a trail running event in Forrest, Victoria, centred on a race village on the banks of the Barwon River (access from Hennigan Crescent; no parking at the village).
Course options:
- 21 km with about 750–800 m of elevation.
- 10 km
- 6 km
- Kids 6 km
The 21 km course follows riverside track along the Red Carpet to Lake Elizabeth and through fern banks around the lake. The route is a circuit that returns to the race village and features technical singletrack, tight off-camber turns, fast downhills and undulating sections.
The 10 km course also starts and finishes at the race village; it runs to a turnaround near the top of the Red Carpet and forms a circuit back to the village.
The 6 km and Kids 6 km use the first half of the 10 km route, running along the Barwon River to the Fernery Trail, across the top of the West Barwon Dam, then down a large hill back to the village.
There are three water stations on the longer courses at approximately 5.5 km, 8 km (Lake Elizabeth carpark) and 16 km. Water stations are not available for the 6 km or Kids course; those participants must carry their own water. The 21 km course includes three road crossings that are staffed during event operations; when crossings are unstaffed runners must give way to traffic.
Race bibs are issued at the registration tent on event day and are not posted beforehand. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
