About the race
Run Forest Run - Minnowburn is a winter race held at Mary Peters Track in Belfast. The event offers two distances:
- 5K
- 10K
Both races start and finish on the Mary Peters Track. The route includes the athletics track, forest trails, country road and a section through Minnowburn National Trust property, returning along the banks of the Lagan. There is a 55-minute cut-off for the 5K so the track can be cleared for the following race.
Entry is online; on-the-day entries may be available if the event does not sell out, with an extra £5 fee for race-day registration. Race packs are posted to participants and are scheduled to arrive by 29 October 2026; entrants must choose a postal option for Northern Ireland or Republic of Ireland at registration. Standard and early-bird entry rates are published for adults and juniors, and registration processing fees apply.
Prizes are awarded for first, second and third male and female finishers. Series category prizes are calculated from the five quickest results and awarded to participants who complete five of six series races. Entries include a Run Forest Run medal, individual chip timing, race number and post-race refreshments. Parking is free in the track grounds but limited. No pets are allowed. There will be no water stations on course; participants should carry water if needed. Toilets and showers are available at the venue. Race photos and results will be published after the event.
