About the race
The Community "Run at the Rock" event is a neighborhood running day held at Woodland High School in Cartersville, GA on December 5. It is presented as the third annual Run at the Rock and includes a trail 5K and a 1 Mile fun run.
The course combines grass sections and rugged trail, and the 5K contains a 90 foot ascent known as "The Rock" in the second mile. The 1 Mile is a loop around the lower field and finishes at the same location as the 5K. The event is scheduled to run rain or shine.
Distances:
- 5K trail race on mixed grass and rugged trails.
- 1 Mile fun run loop around the lower field, same finish as 5K.
Registration opens September 17 and closes November 30. Pre-registration fees are $30 for the 5K and $20 for the 1 Mile; race-day registration fees increase to $40 for the 5K and $30 for the 1 Mile and a T-shirt is not guaranteed for race-day registrants. Pre-registration packet pickup is offered at Big Peach Running Co Cartersville with a listed pickup window of 4:00 to 8:00. Race-day packet pickup and registration open in the morning and close prior to the start.
Awards for the 5K include Top 3 Overall male and female, Overall Masters male and female, and medals for top three in each age group. The 1 Mile includes Top 3 overall male and female and medals for youth age categories.
Parking uses the single main entrance to Woodland High School with gravel lot parking by the softball field and tennis courts, grass parking along the gravel road to the cross-country course, and overflow near the football field and student lot.
