Rosendale Runs Half Marathon and 6K Run/Walk
The Shawangunk Runners in conjunction with the Wallkill Valley Land Trust organize a half marathon and 6K run/walk in the Town of Rosendale, New York. The event uses the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail and features a mostly flat course that is 93% on an unpaved but well-groomed trail surface with two short sojourns off the rail trail.

The route includes the historic Rosendale Trestle bridge, which sits 150 feet above the Rondout Creek and spans 900 feet. The course also passes scenic lakes and goes through a "cave" at the Williams Lake Project. The event is held in Rosendale, a village with historical ties to the Rosendale Cement Company.
Event logistics noted by the organizer include an overall field cap of 300 starters and a half marathon cutoff of three hours and fifteen minutes. Online registration fees are $30 for the half marathon and $25 for the 6K; registration opens on May 31 and closes on October 3. T shirts are guaranteed for registrations completed by September 13. Proceeds support the Wallkill Valley Land Trust to improve, protect, and maintain the Wallkill Valley Rail Trail.
