Day of the Dead Half Marathon - Fort Worth
The Day of the Dead Half Marathon takes place at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. The event offers multiple in-person distances plus a virtual half marathon, held in park and green-belt settings with mixed surfaces.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash - about 20 yards, designed for children 10 and under
- 1 Mile - untimed, includes tee shirt and race medal
- 5K - 3.11 miles, chip timed with overall trophies and age-group pins
- Quarter Marathon - 6.55 miles, chip timed with Bigfoot trophies and age-group pins
- Half Marathon - 13.1 miles, chip timed with Bigfoot trophies and age-group pins
- Volunteer then Run - includes custom chip timed bib, tee, finisher medal
- Virtual Run - 13.1 miles virtual option
Aid stations are on course to provide water and assistance. Course surfaces may include paved trails, crushed granite and dirt paths. Packet pickup is offered for 1.5 hours before the event start. A shirt guarantee cutoff is set at ten days before the event.
A pre-race costume contest is held at the starting area, judged on creativity and authenticity with a prize package for the winner. A post-race rally tent hosts live music, a DJ, refreshments including Mexican treats and award announcements. Results and awards are available at the registration tent immediately after finishing.
