Heroes and Villains Half Marathon - Fort Worth
Presented by Bigfoot Running Company at Marine Creek Lake in Fort Worth, Texas. The event includes in-person and virtual options and multiple race distances across park and greenbelt trails.
Distances offered:
- Kids Dash: 50 meter untimed dash for ages 10 and under
- 1 Mile Fun Run, untimed, open to all ages
- 5K (3.11 miles), chip timed
- Quarter Marathon 6.55 miles, chip timed
- Half Marathon 13.1 miles, chip timed
- Virtual Half Marathon 13.1 miles
- Volunteer then Run 5K with chip timing option
All finishers in every distance receive a medal and a shirt. The 5K, Quarter Marathon, and Half Marathon are chip timed. Standard awards include a Bigfoot Trophy for 1st overall male and female, a Masters recognition pin for 1st Masters 40+, and Gold, Silver, and Bronze pins for the top three in each age group. Age groups range from 10 and under to 70 plus.
Course surfaces are mixed - mostly paved with some crushed granite and dirt sections - and aid stations will be available along the routes. Packet pickup opens 1.5 hours before the race. A costume contest with prizes is scheduled before the races and a post race rally includes awards, DJ music, and refreshments.
Volunteer options include a Volunteer then Run 5K limited to the first five sign ups and non running volunteer roles that offer race shirts and other rewards. Races proceed rain or shine and this event has a no refund policy. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
