Rockin' Rockwoods 53K and 1/2 Marathon
The 12th annual Rockin' Rockwoods trail race takes place in Greensfelder County Park, located in Wildwood, Missouri. Organized by Terrain Trail Runners, the event features multiple distances held across the scenic Green Rock Trail. The course consists of approximately 95% single-track trails with a mix of hard-pack dirt, loose uneven rock, and creek crossings.
Available distances include:
- 53 km
- 1/2 Marathon (approximately 13.1 miles)
- 1/2 Marathon Ruck
The 53 km course is designed as two out-and-back sections with an elevation gain of approximately 5,200 feet. The 1/2 Marathon and Ruck distances follow an out-and-back route with roughly 2,200 feet of elevation gain. All events have a final time limit of 10 hours, with specific intermediate cut-off times enforced at various aid stations.
The event operates as a cup-free and zero-waste race. Participants must bring their own drinking receptacles, as no paper or plastic cups are provided at aid stations or the finish line. Additionally, runners are asked to bring their own mess kit, including a plate and utensils, for the post-race meal. Four manned aid stations are positioned along the course, stocked with water, electrolyte drinks, gels, and snacks.
Registered participants receive a custom hoodie if registered by the August deadline, a custom finisher medal (or a rucking patch for the Ruck division), and post-race food and beer. Awards are presented to the overall male, female, and non-binary finishers for the 53 km and 1/2 Marathon distances. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
