About the race

ROGUE//RIVER is a trail event organized by Phase One Missions in Spokane, Washington. The event was postponed from 2026 and rescheduled for September 18, 2027; entrants from 2026 were automatically transferred to the 2027 date.

Race options include:

  • 30 miles loop around Riverside State Park.
  • 9 miles run out-and-back.
  • 9 miles ruck out-and-back.

Participants self-navigate using a GPX track viewed in Gaia GPS that is provided during race week. The 30-mile route follows the Spokane River, includes sustained climbs along ridge lines, and traverses varied surfaces such as rocks, roots, gravel, asphalt, hard-packed dirt, and soft-packed dirt. Wildlife, including moose, may be encountered on river-adjacent sections.

Five semi-stocked aid stations are placed along the course and include Tailwind Endurance Fuel, NeverSecond C30 Energy Gels, and 1st Phorm protein products, plus water and snacks. Aid stations with restroom facilities are noted at Seven Mile and Carlson trailheads and at Military Cemetery Trailhead. Drop bags are allowed at Pine Bluff. Crews are encouraged to access aid stations by vehicle; every vehicle needs a Discover Pass for State Park trailheads.

Required items include a charging battery for a cell phone and appropriate layering and fueling supplies for self-sufficiency. A pre-race briefing is mandatory. The event currently has a no-refund policy and volunteer incentives for discounted or free entry based on hours served. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
