Rising Sun 10K Trail Run
The Rising Sun 10K Trail Run takes place on Sunday 26 September 2027 at Rising Sun Country Park, Whitley Road, Benton NE12 9SS, in North Tyneside about 5 miles north east of Newcastle city centre. The event is open to participants who are at least 16 years old on the day of the event.
The route covers a 10 km trail through the park's grasslands, woodlands and nature reserve. Trails include both marked and unmarked sections and pass through a variety of forest habitats. Runners should expect a mixture of terrain with steep inclines, wet patches and muddy sections, and the route may bring encounters with local wildlife. Marshals are present on the route.
The event permits Canicross; one controlled dog is allowed per runner. Timing is by live chip timing with live online results. Finish line arrangements include a snack, merchandise, event photography and a finisher's medal.
