Rhino Run - Runnymede
Rhino Run is organised by CIRCUIT RUNNING to raise awareness for Save the Rhino and to direct some event proceeds to related fundraising efforts.
The course is an out-and-back route of 3.28 miles along the River Thames. A separate earlier turn point provides a 5K option, and the 10K distance is two laps of the 5K turn point.
Rhino Run includes a six hour challenge format that allows participants to cover distances from 5K up to an ultra within the time limit. Participants may start a final lap up to 5:59:59 hours after the race start.
Available distances:
- 5K
- 10K
- Half marathon
- Marathon
- Ultra marathon
- 6 hour challenge
After finishing, participants receive a bespoke medal and a five piece goody bag. Toilets and changing facilities are available at the rowing club. There is no official manned bag drop; bags may be left next to the start/finish at the owner’s risk. Parking is available on site at Runnymede Pleasure Grounds but is payable. An aid table at the end of each lap offers water, squash, fizzy drinks and a variety of food for self-service. The event is held along a public footpath and participants should be considerate of other path users.
The event is licensed by the TRA and run under UKA Athletics rules. Maximum permitted distances by age are stated for junior categories; adults have no maximum. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
