Resolute Backyard Ultra
Resolute Backyard Ultra is an official Backyard Ultra held on the woodland trails of Delamere Forest, Frodsham WA6 6NB. The course is a two-lap trail route that together form a 4.167 mile loop with about 232 ft of elevation.
The format requires participants to complete two laps of the 2.08 mile course each hour, on the hour, in order to continue. Runners who fail to meet the time cut-off or who are not inside the start corral when the hour bell rings receive a DNF. Warning bells sound before each lap at three minutes, two minutes and one minute. The event finishes when only one person is able to start a new lap; if no runner can start more laps than the others, there is no winner. A cash prize is offered to the winner and sponsor prizes are available for those who reach 100+ miles.
The event is capped at 100 participants and carries an entry fee of £115. Race HQ functions as the singular aid station and crew area; water, fruit, sweet and savoury snacks, energy bars and electrolytes are provided. Participants may set up a personal rest area on the grass and should bring any tents or gazebos they need. Crew and spectators must remain in the event village and are not permitted on the course. Portaloos and free parking are available near Race HQ. Race numbers are collected at registration on the morning of the event. Visit the organization's website for the most recent information.
